Can anyone help please ? I have searched on the internet and found bank holidays but i've got a question - don't they celebrate easter ?

I have listed, below, the days i've found but are there any others ?
(in particular: bank holiday = a day off work)

I can only find :

Martin Luther King Day
President's Day
Memorial Day
Independance Day
Labor Day
Columbus Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
New Years Day

No they do not, cos its a religious thing and you can't do that in the good old US of A. Surely you've noticed how non-religious Christmas (sorry, I mean the holidays) are over here.

Nope.

And I expect most haven't even heard of Good Friday.

Let alone of that day that comes after Easter...

Nope. Good Friday is a working day.

As to the other ones, many companies will only have you take T/Giving, Christmas and 4th July off. The only people who close on all those days you mentioned are banks or the federal gubment.

The other days are often working days, and not bank holidays as you would know it.

I did notice indeed that Christmas was not called Christmas and woe betide you if you said "happy christmas" on a forum "happy holidays" - doesn't have the same kind of ring - oh well...guess when in America ....

As for Easter hubby will have to take some time off from his annual entitlement then as we have family out to see us for easter.....

Strangely enough this year, and it might be that I was more aware of it, but I don't recall a single person wishing me a happy holiday, but all did wish me a merry christmas.

I would take Martin Luther King Day, President's Day and Columbus Day off the list. Unless you are a teacher or government employee chances are they will be normal working days.

Depends where you work. I have Good Friday off and my wife has Martin Luther day off aswell and she works for a nationwide insurance company.

Most all banks I have ever seen take all those off.

As far as Easter... every bank takes Easter off also.

Banks here do not close over Easter. Good Friday is not a holiday for banks and Easter Monday does not exist.

I am lucky I have, New Years Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Texas Independance Day, Good Friday, San Jacinto Day, Memorial Day, 4th July, Labour Day, Veterans Day,Thanksgiving Dayx2, and Christmas Day x2.

I did not mention either Good Friday nor Easter Monday...but they do always get Easter Sunday off.

As a secular society, with the seperation between church and state- I openly advocate abolishing Christmas as a holiday here- as it is a rather Christian Holiday. We do't get Passover or Ramadan off now do we? Krishna day either. Fair's fair afterall.

Perhaps if the PC crowd or the anti-christian left WERE to advocate that, it might settle all this anti christian foolishness once and for all!

Personally I would support keeping Christmas holidays but also adding Passover etc etc....We need all the holidays we can get in this country !
