Neither Waco nor the Unabombings fit well under the umbrella term (or the real world perception of the term) though. The Unabmobings moreso but with the limited loss of life incurred it still doesn't enter into the same realms. So no, the American public had zero preparation for an attack.

Again though, Im not sure that was the essence of the critism. I think what's being alluding to is just a symptom of sea to shining seaness, which, although natural to some extent everywhere, shows up much more in the US.

We had good teachers.........."the sun never sets"......etc. Now, God help us, the chickens are coming home to roost in so many, many ways.

I agree - Waco can hardly be considered an act of terrorism, unless it's the FBI/ATF that are being painted as terrorists. Even if you (one) do place responsibility at the Feds' door, you're right, it still doesn't check the terrorism box.
