Default Arthur Miller RIP

"Playwright Arthur Miller, famous for The Crucible and Death of a Salesman, dies aged 89"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4258065.stm

so he finally died the, somehow, I always thought he'd died years ago...wrote some good stuff though didn't he.

It was the way he wrote. Made you think he must have died young. Rather like Leonard Cohen in that respect (and only in that respect). He wrote some good plays, I used to go and see them in London.

He also spoke out against McCarthyism and continued to speak up on political matters all his life.

The guy was amazing. I loved his work and feel that sadly we might not see the likes of another like him, Tennessee Williams or any of the other fantastic playwrights that made contemporary theatre so electrifying, important, relevant and necessary. He'll be sorely missed.

Tennesee Williams? Don't expect an invitation to do the eulogy at Artie's funeral
