Hi folks,
I have recently come on a K-1 visa and after that got married.
After that I got a very good job offer from a company in New York and I moved by myself and started working for them.
At first me and my wife decided that she’d move later when I establish myself, find an apartment, etc.
Unfortunately this tragedy happened in New York and my wife is now really very scared and she doesn’t want to move.
So we both decided that it should be a good idea for both of us if I stay a little bit longer to get some more experience working for this company and after that to move back to my wife and to find another job. In this way I’d be able to have much better resume and much better chances for a job. That’s why we didn’t transfer my file for AOS in New York.
Now my questions are:
How the INS would react on all this stuff?
Would that be a problem that for several months we didn’t live together with my wife and we kept the AOS file in her state?
I am really very worried about all this stuff and any help will be highly appreciated.

Nope. INS won't give a tinker's damn. As long as you have proof that your marriage is valid you should be okay. Be prepared to explain everything if this is brought up at the interview.

BTW I work in Manhattan and live just outside of its boundary and there are many from the NG living and working here as well. We are scared but then again so are people in other areas of the United States and Canada and worldwide.

What I am going to say might seem crude or rude but why is she only afraid of her own life and not of yours?

Rita
