Default AOS interview at Arlington

We have our AOS scheduled this August.

I am beginning to put all the paperwork together, & for the list of documents required, Doc steen's site says:

"2. Current personal ID for both parties including birth certificates,..."

I dont have my birth certificate with me at the moment. Is it 'absolutely necessary' for the US citizen to have the Birth Certificate for the AOS interview? Would a US passport be good enough for whatever they want to verify?

I am only a naturalized US citizen, it could take months before i can get a new BC.

thanks

ralph

Yes your passport and your naturalization papers should be sufficient.

Naturalized US citizens use their naturalization certificate to proof they are a US
citizen. You cannot get a US birth certificate. So, take the naturalization
certificate instead.

Andy.
