Take the 100k and pay the mortgage off, and you're left a monthly wage.

If you're assuming all savings are spent paying off the mortgage...you are assuming wrong.

Re: Anyone feeling the pinch?

I got an email from the gal who rented the other half of the building my old office was in. She had a skin care business for 5 years, had put alot of money into fixing up her side of our building and the first 3 years did rather well because she knows her stuff. She did all the right things, networked, advertised ,was a cofounder of the local Women's Business Alliance and truly a nice person to boot. Last year the building got sold, rent doubled, and two other spas opened up in town on a more public route. Her business started to fall off, she had to let the receptionist go and start working 2 days a week for a dermatologist in Savannah. Now she is closing down for good, and back to working for someone else fulltime. :(

I was just saying add any interest you might make off your investment to what you can afford to pay from your wage. Not the Principal. That way you still have the nest egg.
