Hi,
We're moving from the UK to New Hampshire in October. We have stuff which is essential but also a lot of furniture that whilst not essential would save us money when we get our new place. I know it's a calculation to be made, is what we are paying for the shipping worth it when we could just buy new there? I think it is because after contacting some companies it seems we have the option of half a 20ft container or a whole one. Well, half won't do so if we go for the full 20ft then we might as well pack in as much stuff as possible.
Has anyone had any great quotes/service? I know they are not always one and the same!
Many thanks

Thanks, just wondered if anyone had found a really good deal. Found one of your posts below, will check them out
Cheapest so far have been Excess International and Bournes (although Bournes have charges for different things that they add on top). I'm just waiting for a local company to come and quote me but I'm probably going to go with Excess, very impressed with their quote and they seem to cover everything I need.

If I knew then what I know now I would not have brought the wardrobes.

I think with 20' Pulaski, we can fill it up and jettison the rest, if we got into 40' then cost would increase considerably and I really don't thing we would do it justice. Did you have many boxes? furniture-wise we have two chest of draws, 2 double beds a living room dresser, table and chairs. Those are the only items of furniture i'd really like to take.

We had many boxes, crockery and glasses soon fill a box because of all the packing materials. We also had a lots of books, magazines, video tapes, records, CDs, plus clothing, hand tools, and kitchenware. I think "all in" we had over 200 "items" (item = 1 box, 1 chair, 1 bundle of furniture parts, 1 box of CDs, etc.)

Think we'll find a good quote, get them in to have a look. None of the furniture is must keep but if we take what we can then it will reduce costs when we buy. Appreciate what you say though, a space can seem big but it's soon filled.
