Re: For all those feeling homesick....
I would miss both places...but I would miss MA if I left it for good...apart from the cold...cleaning the fireplace...the traffic...not getting into a restaurant in summer...gardening...painting....ice...sand everywhere..leaves....bad roads..cost of living...dead grass...getting dark so early...wind storms...humid summers with no rain...etc etc etc ....apart from those few little things I love the place....

Re: For all those feeling homesick....
Its the middle of August here in Florida and its generally rainy however its sunny today, the temperature is in the high 90's not taking into consideration the humidty so its pretty much like walking in a steam bath. The roadways are terrible - I saw two accidents in two days so far this week, one looked very serious. The school buses are clogging up the residential streets and making life an utter pain.
I have given up on eating out here. The food is shit and expensive, however the local chain restaurant did have a special on Blue Moon - 24oz glass for $5.00 which wasn't too bad. I was glad of that beer when I checked out my latest property tax bill. Thank **** I had the sense to get a fixed rate mortgage, as I can just about squeeze the amount it went up by.
So far this year, theres been 3 dozen raids on houses in my town on houses that are being used to grow pot. Theres been an increase in murders, rapes, home invasions, car thefts, burglaries so far this year. It makes me want a drink! However, if I could find a bar that served decent beer and had comfy outside seating I am sure I'd be paying through the nose for Budweiser or Miller Lite. I'll try to avoid mentioning the poor Indian (dots not feathers) guy in the local gas station who gets verbally abused by some of the redneck white trash that show up there to fill up.
Raining here, no chance of a BBQ either.
It's ok though, a new Walmart just opened up in town, so there'll be a bunch of local businesses closing, and a bunch more people being exploited by a vicious employer, lower wages, lack of union representation, prohibitive healthcare insurance costs and the chance, if they are lucky, to be locked in at night until their work is finished (the overtime will be unpaid of course)

It's not too bad though. Much rather live here than in Worksop
