He'll be working longer hours, or it'll be expected unless he's got it written in to his contract, and make sure he gets his UK holiday allowance, because it's crap over here, he's the one doing them the favour afterall.

Also make sure it's written into the contract to pay for a trip back home every year and for an illness/death in the family. To cover costs of him moving back to the UK at the end of the 2 years or before...if it doesn't work out.
