Advantages form are kids can now travel / work virtually anywhere without fear of losing visa if they stay away too long. Their kids will be American too / Dual Citizen.
free healthcare (if we ever had to go back to UK).
Disadvantages are TAX, inheritance tax etc., The US will tax you form this side and you can't get away with that, even if you move back. A good tax advisor is essential if you have a good chunk of equity.
Another BIG thing you have to consider is your wills. The US tax system is pretty screwed if you die (until you become a citizen) so again, if you have any equity, make sure you setup proper trusts for your kids else they will be taxed to the hilt..
