Hi All,
I'm due to make my move from the UK to the US at the end of next month.
Here in the UK I have my own limited company (and take my personal income as a combination of salary and dividends from the company).
Once I make my move, there is a good chance one of my UK clients will want me to continue teleworking for them.
Can anyone recommend a good UK-USA expat accountant, with knowledge of personal tax in both countries, and ideally company tax in the UK?
Many Thanks,
Dan

Number of people on here use Peter. They are well recommended. Problem might be they often cannot take on new business.

Yes, I used him for two years. I have work from the UK though not an active UK business while in the US, and he was able to sort all that out, along with personal UK stuff that had to be declared in US taxes.

Never used him - but had thought about it in the past.
Here's a bit more about him:

Does anyone have any other recommendations? I've been trying to get through to Pete Newton for the last couple of weeks, but with no success. Is he still in business?

What visa will you be on while in the US? or are you a US citizen.
If you are working from the US for a UK client the simplest option for you is to set yourself up as a sole proprietor in the US.....this is very easy indeed. Then you can pay the US income and payroll taxes easily.
What are you going to do about health insurance?

I've been using Pete for several years now. He can take on new business. He didn't for awhile but he has an assistant that helps him out now. Her name's Kate. I highly recommend him!

So it turns out Pete Newton is not taking on any new business at the moment.
Can anyone vouch for either Protax, or Rob Whittall at Dyke Yaxley?
Thanks again,
Dan
