Hello all,

Is working for a few hours in my spare time while I was an H1 going to cause a problem while in my AOS interview?

I did maybe 20 hours worth of work for someone while on H1, who then sent me a 1099 for $800, which I then dutifully put in my taxes. I think I was not supposed to do that while on an H1, but I didn't know that at that time.

This was back in 1999 and I am taking my tax returns for that year with me to the interview, as asked.

Illegal work is excused for AOS based on marriage to a US citizen.

Andy.

With the caveat that illegal documentation wasn't used to obtain it.
