No use to me, they do not cover my area, but for those of you nearer water.

I wish they had flights from Tampa or Clearwater.

Pretty pointless unless you happen to live near Columbus, OH or Greensboro, NC (otherwise you're very limited in where you can fly to because they don't offer connecting flights).

Quote:

Currently, Skybus does not offer any connecting flights (for example, from Los Angeles through Columbus to Boston). And we don’t offer flights between our destination cities (for example, between Los Angeles and San Francisco).

Please note: It’s possible to create your own multi-point Trip through our Columbus and Greensboro bases, but we don’t recommend it. Our flight schedules are very tight, and you may miss your connection. If you do create your own multi-point Trip, please keep the following in mind:

* You must move your baggage between flights. If you create your own multi-point Trip, you must collect your own baggage at each stop and re-check it yourself – Skybus does not move your bags automatically. For more information, see our Help Center section on baggage.
* Leave enough time between flights. If you book a multi-point Trip, we recommend that you allow at least two hours between your flights. This will help ensure that you have enough time to retrieve and re-check your bags, and be at your gate in time. All of our check in and gate deadlines still apply if you purchase multiple flights.

An ex-coworker told me about Skybus a while ago. She lives west of Chapel Hill (in Orange County, NC) but has used Skybus several times to visit family in Toledo, OH.

She's bought those cheap $10.00 air tickets but personally, Greensboro Airport's about an hour's drive from me when RDU is only 20 minutes. Plus, Columbus is a fair drive to Cleveland, OH, which would be my final destination.

So, I'll probably continue to fly Continental direct from RDU to Cleveland.

These guys fly from an otherwise useless airport just a couple of miles from me. Can anyone report whether Columbus or Greensboro are worth a visit for a couple of days? They're practically giving seats away so would be rude not to...

2 and bit hour drive down the road to Columbus for me. Funny that I've been on their $10 notification email hotlist since autumn last year and haven't a peep out of them

Greensboro's a pretty interesting city. It's a collegey type place with some good barbecue. It's got a bohemian section which is definitely walkable. Last time I was there, I noticed a rather nice ballpark which would be an incentive to visit G'boro during baseball season.

Of course, there's Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill only an hour's drive away from Greensboro, due east on I-40. CH would be the closest, then Durham, then Raleigh.

Wait until the 2008 College Football season and see if you can pick up a ticket to an Ohio State Buckeyes game. Other than that, I don't know much about where Christopher Columbus landed.
