ok guys, firstly, I was in a bad way about 18 months ago, came to this
newgroup for advice, most the time just recived a load of grief and "stick"
( asking about marrying my US g/f via k1, and I had a crim. record (GBH)
well I went my own route, found the best way.
If you think you MIGHT have "miminal" problems with immigration
goto the USA, stay a while, marry there, dont use the K1 route, its
expensive, and a pain in the ass, I found a real good US immigration lawyer,
Im from england btw.
I have now been married for 13 months, and have a new born baby, and live
happily here in the US,.
I had my interview, but of course, the government are holding back at the
moment on approvals, but my case as far as the interviewer goes, was good.
everyone said Id need a waiver on here, and I got nothing but grief.
I never even got asked much regarding my "problem"
its all down to the individual on the day.
my advice is...get a GOOD lawyer. total cost for me, lawyer fees, filing
fees and everything( which included lawyer going to Atlanta with us) was
$1,200 which was NOTHING, for what we valued his services for. So if you
still worry, like many on here made me worry, ignore it, and seek advice,
theres always a way, and sometimes its not even as complicated as it seems.
take care all

This is a great message, very encouraging. I wish you a lifetime of
happiness and it seems you have found it.
