We actually received our NOAs from the MSC before our checks cleared our bank account. We filed June 1st, we received the NOAs in the mail on June 16th, and they were dated June 14th. Our checks cleared the bank a day or two later. I don't think there's any sure fire way of knowing when the checks will be cashed or when one will receive their NOAs.
Good luck to everyone waiting! Time to sit back and twiddle your thumbs since there's nothing else we can do!

Not to rain on anyones parade....but my son's check for his EAD was
cashed and then 3 months letter he rec'd a denial notice. No refund.
I wont go into the reason for the denial as its a long story and
doesnt pertain to the question at hand. It has been my experience (6
years) that they cash the checks and then it sits till someone looks
at it. Cashed checks dont mean approaval is coming.

Re: Yessssss!!!!!
After sending in the check to renew his EAD, we decided to withdraw
his I-485 application. He choose to return back to canada for
personal reasons. The EAD was denied based on the application
withdrawal obviously. Of course I thought they would return the money
but.........
Anyways, my point of the post was only that the check being cashed
only means they rec'd the application.
They cash first....process later.

Yeah, I know they process it after, but I was excited to at least see that something STARTED happening with it haha. Maybe I'm just dumb
