Probably another dumb question but if an L1 holder were to write a book and it miraculously was published and they earned money from it, how would that be viewed in terms of their visa (which was approved for a specific job unrelated to the writing)? Does it count as unauthorized work or does it fall under a different category?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Unless you were paid to write the book, I don't see how it could be considered working. My gut feeling on this - and I might be 100% wrong - is that you'll be okay doing it.
