You asked the same question back in September of 2008. Do you think that somehow it'll all be different now?

Hi Ferrydreamer,

You best bet is to read this page in the wiki and see if any of those situations apply to you.

Hi Sue
i had a look, but it seems that non of them will help my situation. I was hoping to be able to do some sort of temp work or work/camping so i could finance some of the holiday

thanks anyway

yeah a B2 seems the way to go, hopefully a ten year one, with multiple entry, but it's more a question of can i earn any money on my travels?.
I think they do a year working visa to Australia, and wondered if they did in the States, but it looks as if they don't.
Thanks for your reply's

Well, Obama has been president for 6 months now but unfortunately the "unlimited availability of 12 month working vacation visas for clueless Brits" provision of his immigration reform proposals seems to have taken a back seat to more important things like the economy and having a beer with Harvard professors who manage to lock themselves out of their own homes ...

... but, you never know, if the OP asks again next year he just might get lucky ...

I can't be arsed to trawl through old threads...so how old? If fresh out of college kind of range, possibly Bunac for a summer type of gig.

B2 ain't a realistic goer unless your close to retirement age or able to afford not to work so that'd be ruled out.

The US doesn't participate in the workers holiday visa so other countries don't offer it to septics either, except NZ, but they have a $3K bond.

He's an old git, but age doesn't appear to have granted him much wisdom.
