Working in Canada
Hi All,
Do you think it would create any problem if I travel from the US to
Canada on a valid Canadian work permit without getting my social
security number /card in the US (for eg while re-entering United
States) .I have a H1.
Regards,
Mits

Re: Working in Canada
Hi ,
Thanks for your reply
Sorry about not being very clear. The way it is rght now is that my
employer wants me to send me to a client in Canada.
I am on an h1 in the us . I understand that a work permit would be
required to work in Canada.
1)Would there be any effect on my h1 (will it become invalid?) if I
go to Canada on the canadian work permit ?
2)Coud there be additional problems at the point of re-entry from
Canada into US?
Regards,
Mits

Re: Working in Canada
Your company will know if a Canadian work visa is required for you to work for a client in Canada. My thought is if you are just going to Canada for a few days or a week or two then no, you will not require a Canadian work visa since you are not working in Canada for a Canadian company nor are you being paid in Canada.
However, depending on your nationality you might well require a travel visa to enter Canada.
