Living in the US would be an eye-opening experience for you.

If an employer has to have the visa process explained to them I would have very little hope of them being interested in going through with it - as I explained it will cost them $5,000-$8,000 for sn employee who has only a 30%-50% chance of getting a visa to start work in October. If you don't have an employer "on the hook" with a visa application ready to file 8 weeks from now, then you can make that "October 2017".

As a crude level set:- Someone with the level of specialist skills that make visa sponsorship worthwhile, is likely to be pulling a UK salary of £70K+ / US$110K+

I have the equivalent to a bachelors degree in my study field and I've had it valued in the form of a educational valuation assessment specifically doen for emigrating.

I've only just started hunting a month or so ago and I've had so many companies replying and asking for interviews and they know I have no immigration status in the states as I'm clear on it. I wanted some advise on how to explain the sponsorship process as most of them are newbies but companies with a turnover of $20 million +

Go fish.
I can see why an employer would want to spend thousands and wait months for you to be able to start work when you're so grateful to those that have taken the time to try and help you. Particularly when one of them is actually working in the same industry and may have had contacts that could assist.

For a H1-B, not only does the job need a degree (i.e. the job ads must say a degree is a minimum requirement), but you also need a degree in the same field. Hopefully the forum pros will be along shortly to tell you if an actual degree is required, or if having an equivalent will meet the eligibility criteria for the visa you're interested in. Getting the ECA makes sense for employment purposes though.

Having companies want to interview you is great, although we do see on the forum time and time again the same thing happening - but funnily enough, when the company finds out they'll have to spend $5-8k on a visa app, see if you get selected and then and wait 7 months or so for a foreign worker to be able to start work, they're not quite so keen. But all you can do is tell them what they'd need to do (i.e. hire a lawyer), what the visa requirement is (assuming you do meet it i.e. your qualification would meet the eligibility criteria) and see what happens.

Good luck.

Indeed it is - it's close to 38x the size of the UK. California is almost 1.75x the size of the UK. No charge!

I have the equivalent to a bachelors degree in my study field...
So, you don't actually have a Bachelor's degree, then!

I've had it valued in the form of a educational valuation assessment specifically doen for emigrating.
It doesn't matter what the UK thinks of your degree... it's what the US thinks that matters. If you define degree equivalency in the US just using the UK as an example then you, my friend, are very foolish.

Y'see what I did there? It works both ways!

I hope you're beginning to understand that that isn't your job! If they don't know about sponsorship - then they need an immigration attorney to explain it to them... not some prospective, over-eager employee without a degree.

A lot of your comments have just been demotivating...
You mean honest and realistic... that's true! Our job isn't to make you feel good about yourself - we're here to give you a realistic outlook on things. As it stands, most people in the world will never come to the US as anything other than a visitor. So... with all due respect to your skill set, you haven't yet demonstrated sufficient eligibility for an H-1B visa.

I hate England it's weather and it's bad politics and most of all miserable people and I always will...
Oh, please - don't make me laugh! The US isn't any better.

I've visited lots of states...
Oh, please - don't make me laugh! Visiting someplace is never the same as living there. I suspect you don't have enough life experience behind you to compare countries at any meaningful level.

Quite a sense of entitlement you have there, if you think this alone gives you the right to emigrate with the country of your choosing welcoming you with open arms.

If you think England's politics are bad, you'll shit blood if you ever do live in America

I doubt if we are talking about hot lead, but I do know someone who has some equipment from that period needing restoration.

Silly you trying to explain what they may need as far as sponsoring someone, I agree if they are not familiar then something they need to discuss with the friendly Immigrantion Lawyer.

I do not have a degree
Failed in lottery April 2014
Successful in lottery April 2015

I was able to prove 10+ years of experience in my field to get my H1-B visa

Like others have mentioned earlier in this thread, October 2016 would be the earliest you could start, providing your application is in on April 1st from the employer who is willing to sponsor you.
If they delay by a week applications will likely be rejected

I think last year there was a 25%-30% of being selected once the lottery took place

The members on this forum are highly knowledgeable and I have learnt plenty from reading threads. If I am at 2% of their knowledge, then that would be a surprise

If you are 21, with no degree, its going to be difficult to prove 10 years equivalent
