Default Work Permit?

My hubby and I filed my documents for my AOS back in November. I got
fingerprinted on December 29th. My interview is on March 2nd. Now, I
still haven't got any information on my EAD... No letters, no card. I
thought that maybe they just won't give me one, since my interview is
drawing so close. And here comes my confusion... For the past couple
of weeks I've been getting credit card applications, inssurance and
loan pre-aprovals and what not sent to my correct name on my address.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this mean I am actually in
the system somewhere? Considering how I never sign up for such things,
and never state my full first name on the internet (I go by Dee,
since no one can say my whole name anyway). So I was wondering if I
should call the 1800 number or maybe just wait for my interview time
and ask them then? Although, I would love to have that EAD, if only to
renew my driver's license...
Have a great week!

Assuming you filed the I-765, it hasn't even been 2 months since your EAD biometrics. It can take up to 90 days (or sometimes more) from the time you had biometrics until you receive the EAD in the mail. Just be patient.

I highly doubt receiving that sort of junk mail means you're in the immigration system. I don't think they are related in any way. You'll be surprised at the way your name can get around and the junk mail you can get.

Best Wishes,
Rene

do you have a Driver's License ? If you do, that's most likely where they get your address and name from.

No, it doesn't mean you're in the system. It has absolutely nothing to do with immigration in the slightest.

Back in 2002, seven months after we met online, Mark came to the States to visit me on the VWP. He had never been to the US before, and this was before we got engaged or started the K1 immigration process. While here, he ordered something from Barnes & Noble online, which he had mailed to my address but in his name.

About a month after Mark returned to the UK, credit card offers from MBNA started to arrive in my mailbox -- for HIM. The credit card he was being offered? The Barnes & Noble MasterCard.
