Will be moving...questions
My aussie husband and I will be moving across the river to New Jersey. After we
inform the local NYC office, does our file tranfer as well...if so it seems
like the process is a bit faster over there...comments please. Thanks

I asked the INS National Customer Service line this question (referring to green card I-130 submissions) and they said that the files do have to move to the new local office (mind you, the answer you get from these INS phone guys seems to depend on who you talk to!). This may take a little time to transfer the files but they said that the application picks up where it left off in the previous office- ie. they do not begin the process from step 1 again thankfully.
