Where to start...?
So...
I am 25, have a degree in English Literature and work as a manager for an independant restaurant. I have worked in hospitality for 7 years and in management for 3.
My boyfriend has been offered a position within his company based in their New York office. They have had a few people move over with no issues, so I assume it will be the same for him.
What are my options if I want to move over as well and continue to work? I have read as much as I can, but opinion seems to be divided on jobs withing the hospitality sector.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated...
Thanks,
Tom

This link is the start. As a same sex partner unfortunately you have less options.

Thanks Weeze, I'd already read that article, but as I said, opinion on whether I could get an H1B seems to be divided...

This should probably get moved to the immigration forum. There are lots of helpful people there who will help. Good luck to you.

I'm not really seeing an easy route for you to live and work in the USA.
The best option for you to live in the USA with your partner is a B-2 cohabitating partner visa (if you've indeed been living together). But that visa does not allow you to work.

Thanks Rene.
If I were to get a B-2 and start looking for work when I was there, would that make it easier for me to get my own H1B or not make a difference?
