You are mistaken on two counts. First, you cannot start the process now.
There is no immigration category for parents of LPRs.
Second, it also doesn't take years. Once you become a US citizen, she is
immediately entitled to apply for a Green Card, and would have one within
about a year.

IF you could sponsor her now, it would indeed be a concern. But since you

would think twice about it is health care cost, and as she gets older,
long-term care cost.
