As long as you continue whatever the purpose of your trip to the USA was
after you return to the USA, yes.
For instance, if you came to the USA as a student, go to Canada, and try
to return to the USA as a tourist, you would have a problem. But if you
returned to continue studying, you'd be fine.

So what you are saying is that if you have a US multiple visa, you do not need Canada visa to enter from US?
Basically this person has US 5 year multiple visa. So if he decides to enter Canada from US for visit, he will not need a visa?
I know that he will be able to return to US from Canada without any problem since the visa is multiple and still valid for 5 years.
Question is entering Canada with or without Canadian visa?
Thanks

Sorry, no, that's not what I meant. I thought your question was about
returning to the USA. I don't know enough about Canadian rules to tell you
whether or not you need a visa for Canada.
I think you may want to ask this question in a Canada-related newsgroup.

And assuming that it's a tourist visa and he intends to continue a visit
to the US (or assuming that it's an F-1, and he continues studying, or an
H-1B and he continues working, etc.) And of course also assuming that he
didn't become inadmissible in the meantime, etc. etc. But most likely, you
are right.
