You said the VCR did NTSC playback. I misunderstood that to mean you could playback
on NTSC TV. I now think you meant it could play NTSC tapes as most European VCRs..
You would need a PAL to NTSC converter to play it on a US TV. I would avoid the
hassle and buy a a VCR that plays different formatted tapes on to different format
tvs. Mine does that and also allows input from other devices that have different
formats. It would be $400-500.
