Default Contributed My Part :D

I've browsed for quite some time, but this is my first post.

I'm very anxious about the current world affairs intermingled with the recent halt of K-1 I-129F Fiancé(e) Visa Applications. I have just emailed the press release to:

NBC:
The Today Show
DateLine
NBC Nightly News

ABC:
Good Morning America
World News Tonight
Nightline

CBS:
The Early Show
CBS Evening News
48 Hours

My Local Paper:
The Florida Times Union

And for added fun:
BBC News

I don't have loads of time to spare, due to being overworked and underpaid, but I did manage to change at least one feature, and I hope that Sophisgent (& the respective, collective company of people leading this effort) doesn't mind. I changed "Fiancee" to read "Fiancé(e)" throughout the document, as not all of our better halves across the sea are female.

I also hope that my sending it to national and international news media wasn't "over the top," as my wonderful UK Fiancé would say! I just did it in hopes that *someone* out of the list would pick up the story and that it would gain enough attention to warrent some kind of coverage. Of course, competing with some of the other hot topics, I'm not sure how high this will be on the news-coverage priorities.

At any rate, he and I are not over the 90 days yet (more like 57), but you can bet we don't want to be, either. And I'll stop my rambling for now.

All my best!
Aeonii

Sandy,
Glad you spoke up. I'm in the same boat with the CSC. I was on 62 days
and counting when they changed the times (receipt date was 29th of
November). After many hours of trying I managed to speak to three
different people at the INS, including one from the CSC.

The unanimous response was: "You can't pay any attention to those
numbers." So why do they publish them? You get the same numbers on the
receipt letters, on the phone system and via the website.

All three say: "If you have questions or concerns about your
application or the case status results listed above, or if you have
not received a decision or advice from the INS within the projected
processing time frame*, please contact the service center where you
submitted your application." Then you can't get through to the service
center, but 1 in 100 tries, only to be told that they can't tell you
anything.

The last person I spoke to at the CSC said she was going to have to
hang up and help someone else, after I had been on hold for 30+
minutes!

Anyway, the statement in the release that the TSC is the only center
to stop processing isn't accurate. You may want to correct it in your
final release. Anyone planning something for V-Day at the California
Service Center...?

Does anyone know what they're actually doing at the service centers
right now? Is this some homeland security garbage? Who can we, the
people, hold accountable at the polls? It's so frustrating being so
clueless as to what's going on, and so helpless to do anything about
it.

Never thought it'd be so hard to get married. Grumble... Grumble...

If you do a search on this forum and others you will find that all the other service centers have begun producing approvals except for TSC - so the statement that we are the only ones with a complete cessation on processing and adjudication is in fact correct.

California, Missouri, Vermont and Nebraska have ALL produced approvals within the month of Feb.

Hi:
Well... As spanish speaker and foreigner, I´m sending email to the media of the spanish speaker world agencies, and media around the whole world...
I´m not a press people , just a woman making some for her rights. If were for the properly language, maybe almost nobody could being protect their own rights; and sounds inclusive a a bit silly try to create the fake idea that we are more than people sufering emotional and economical damages for the lack job of some agencies.
For if somebody speak spanish too, here can find a copy about what I´m sending to that places:

And is NOT a profesional "idea", is my own tought, and like Human I have the right to make hear my voice... I can´t be there for obviously reasons... but I can try to make what is possible for have the right to have my own family.

PRESS RELEASE

VALENTINE'S DAY PROTEST--TEXAS SERVICE CENTER--INS
AMERICAN FIANCEES HELD HOSTAGE ON VALENTINE'S DAY BY GOVERNMENT

"Their work stoppage affects hundreds of American citizens who have waited for
over four months for their Fiancee Visa Applications to be approved, and there
is no word from TSC."
Dawson said the INS work stoppage has affected several thousand tax paying
American citizens living in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia,
Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas who have submitted Fiancee Visa Applications to
TSC."
Just a thought before you send this out....

First you say hundred of people are effected, then you state that the stoppage has effected several thousand. Consistancy will read better and probably have more effect

Dawson explained that there are three other INS service centers in the U. S.
located in California(CSC), Vermont(VSC) and Nebraska(NSC). Dawson said
Texas Service Center(TSC) is the only one of the four INS service centers which
has stopped processing Fiancee Visa Applications.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------

Curiosity got the best of me on this one...
Isn't there a Service Center is Missouri as well? Do they not process Fiancee Visas therefore should not be mentioned?
