USCIS Name Check - Follow up
Thanks for the answer. I am in Michigan and my local office is
Detroit. I am waiting after filing I-485. I would also like to know
at
what point during the immigration process, does the USCIS send the
request for the back ground check. But my main question is how
frequently does the local office check back with the USCIS regarding
the name check. My local office always says that "EXCEPT" this my
application is complete and that I realize that its in their interest
as well to get done with pending cases. Anyway, if you have any
information as to how frequenlty does the local office check the
status, Please let me know, so that I may make locat trips to the
USCIS regarding my application, accordingly. Thank you.

Every office is different from the next. Just like our cases it is
very unpredictable. My office is Denver an they say they check
2weekly..this is word from the head guy in charge. Then there are
other offices who only check 1 a week or even only 1 a month. I
honestly think everyone lately is having problems with their
background checks. Good luck....I have been waiting over a year now.

Every office is different from the next. Just like our cases it is

Name checks starts within weeks they recieve your package an start
work on it. I was informed my name check started on Feb 26th 2006 an
my reciept date is Feb 16th 2006. My biometrics wasnt done till April
26th 2006.
