USCIS Case Status Online Profile
Has anyone created a profile for checking their case status online?
If so what were their experiences?
My EAD is showing as having been worked on a week ago but still no change to my case status. Kind of frustrating to know something has been done with my case but to have no result.

2. As control freaks, we had the same thought as you---when the dates would change, we'd go, "oooOOOOOOoooo" but the message would stay the same, so it made us a little crazy. However, it was a hell of a lot better than not knowing anything.
The other thing we noticed was sometimes the page description would not change and then BAM, you'd be approved for something. Hang in there, something's happening.

I would say the information is current.

I've been using it all along, and I love it. So far, ours has been right on target with letting us know what's happening with EAD and AP. No word on AOS yet, but that's also predictable...ours is a slow moving office.

I did and got 3 emails so far in regards to my application. In fact I got one today stating that my e file EAD is on it's way.

I assume everyone's talking about your online portfolio that you can create on the USCIS website?
If so I think it's awesome! I can't remember exactly when I got it, but I must have already had it back last May because that's how I found out my AP had been approved a while before I ever received a letter in the mail.
It's also how I found out that ALL my files were being sent from Chicago to Texas, and then again when they received them in Texas.
I think it's a great tool so that you know a little while ahead of time when something is done to your file without having to go search for the individual case every time.
The only thing I'd change about it is that I would keep a history of all changes that were made, rather than just showing the most recent one. Because sometimes when they update it it shows less info than your older updates, so unless you wrote down somewhere what it was there's not really any way of going back to it. Otherwise thumbs up.

Wow! I'm glad it's worked out for you guys.
I didn't start using it until November 2004 and just for my EAD. I've selected the email option but haven't been sent any emails yet. That's despite the fact that I have selected the 'yes' option.
Will I be able to use it for my AOS? After seeing other's experiences I'd like to give it another go.

Be prepared for more stupid questions of the day as things progress!
Actually I think I'm OK, I've filled out I-485 and G-325A. Just need to get pics and photocopies for that. I've got a doctor's appointment this savo for my medical (from the approved list on the website). Found the reviewed fees and filing instructions.
Seems like the I-864 is the most hassle to complete.
But I'm sure someone will be along to tell me what I've missed/messed up/misread/misheard! Just when you think you've got it right!

So yeah, I'd give it another go. I mean it doesn't hurt to get an email a few days earlier than the letter informing you that you got approved, right? That way at least you know to expect a letter in the mail!
