USC this afternoon :-)
7 years and 8 months after landing in Austin, I had my naturalization interview this morning and will have the oath ceremony this afternoon. What a journey! Very happy and relieved it is over and very content to be staying here.
Bonus points - I was divorced in January and from today, I will be going back to my maiden name.
Thanks for all the handholding and sage words from the helpful members of this forum -some of whom are now valued friends.

Welcome to the US as a newly appointed citizen.
Don't recall if you have any children left under the age of 18, but if you do, they automatically became a USC when you did. Get them an American Passport.

Congratulations!
Was there any kind of ceremony in a group setting?

Re: USC this afternoon :-)
There was a ceremony - about 30 people spaced out around the room, no guests. The officer apologised for us not getting a proper ceremony, she administered the oath and that was it. 20 minutes start to finish.
I am just beginning to realise the monumental amount of bureaucracy I've created by reverting to my maiden name. Yikes.
At my team rowing practice this morning, our coach gave a little "welcome to life as an American speech " and my team cheered. It was lovely.
Thank you all for your kind wishes.
PF. ( at least I don't have to change that one!!)
