Pretty much, yes. Many UK people go to Amsterdam for a visa. You'd have to stay there for a few days because they do take your passport, but it's relatively painless from what I understand. It's expensive to do that, but it's done all the time.

I thought as much. I called the Dublin office but they are closed for a national holiday for obvious reasons. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what my choices are. Dublin is a lovely city anyway, so I could go over there for a few days with the missus while I wait for my passport.

I'd hate to throw a spanner in the works but your visa may need additional processing time due to multiple CIMT's. Best factor that in.

Well when I contacted the US Consulate, Belfast when my boyfriend was applying for a B2 visa, I was informed that a UK caution did not take the additional processing time.

I hope you get an appointment soon. If you get a visa without a waiver on it. Considering that you have cautions for marijuana and cocaine, if they issue the visa without a waiver, that will blow the whole caution = conviction/admission viewpoint right out of the water.

Apparently if you keep on ringing up the embassy they may be able to offer you an earlier appointment; ie cancellations etc

My boyfriend rang up and was told he was not able to get an appointment till April, he rang up a few minutes later and was told they could get him in at the end of the following month, we didn't have his passport at that time so we rang again a week later and he was offered an appointment 2 weeks earlier than previously offered.
