Default Uploading photo to DS-160 form

Hi,

I've been wrestling with uploading my photo to my DS-160. Every time I try, I get the attached message. I have taken my photo myself and put it through the photocropper tool on the website, so I know it absolutely meets technical specs (and just to be sure, I've done it twice with different photos).

So far I have tried it on my iMac (safari and firefox), on my laptop (IE and firefox) and even on my iPad (safari), all with the same error. I'm leaning towards thinking it's a website problem and I should just try again tomorrow.

however, thought I'd ask here in case this is a common bug and others have found a way round it - I did try to search the forum, but didn't find much.

Give it a simpler, one word name and see if there's any difference. (Or does it need to be that complex?)

Thanks - tried that, tried naming it .JPG and .jpg too (capitalisation of suffix makes a difference on a system at work).

Either I'm being a complete numpty or something is not right - google isn't helping much either.

It does sound like a website fault if you've set the specs correctly.

I had a different error. The photo uploaded and passed the quality test but when I actually then tried to submit the photo I got the error 'An error occurred while processing your photo. Please try again later'.

Despite trying different PCs and browser combos at regular intervals, it wouldn't work for about 24 hours. Eventually it worked on the original PC/browser (Chrome).

Although it appears to be a different problem, I'd keep trying over the course of a day or two before trying to get in touch with anyone about it.

I have now progressed - I can upload the photo and am now getting the same error as you!

It is some comfort to know it's not me and I just need to persevere, but good grief it is deeply irritating, especially as it seems that you can't progress with your application until you have got the damn photo uploaded.

Woo! this morning it worked. I suspect an overnight server refresh sorted the issues out (well it does on our work systems).

If anyone else has problems, hang in there and try first thing the next morning.
