There is the catch-all EB-3 "Other Workers" subdivision for direct GC sponsorship of unskilled type labour, but your employer would still have to file PERM for it which would likely come under a LOT of scrutiny. I believe the subdivision is limited to 10,000 per year also.

I will also look into studying in the US, one of my friends who I believe to be more clever than myself had tried to study in the US and she was rejected. I suppose every person is different but that shot my hopes down of that.

Thanks a lot
You are still very young: why don't you apply to Camp America or another similar org that brings over students and young people to work in summer camps or as interns. They'll sort out your visa and you'll be able to live here temporarily for a few months to a) see if you really do like it (living here is very different to visiting) and b) maybe you'll meet the love of your life.

my younger sister is doing camp America in Maryland and she seems to be enjoying it, but she is very limited in what she can do. They are only allowed to leave the complex on a Saturday and must be back by a certain time. I have came over for 9/10 week periods 3 times within the past 2 years and love it so much here.all I have been doing is working back home/Australia to find coming out here again as I enjoy it so much.

Hmmm. Things may have changed but I had the time of my life when I did Camp America (back in 1998) and there were no such restrictions on our movements on/off camp.

Regarding Neill's message, what he means is that there seems to be an immigration category for 'other workers' who don't fall into the usual skilled worker / entrepreneurs / individual of exceptional ability etc. An employer could theoretically apply for a GC for someone using this category although only 10,000 people can approved for this category per year. What PERM means is that the employer will then have to prove that there is no one local qualified to take the job and this can take a very long time and will be extremely difficult to prove if the person is coming in to do unskilled labour, landscaping, low-income work etc because there are millions of Americans who do these jobs already: https://www.hooyou.com/lc/permindex.html.

The first part of applying for a Green Card based on employment usually means doing a PERM - your future employer has to prove that no American is willing and able to do the job.
As Sherbert said, proving to the DOL that no American is willing and able to do this unskilled-type job for which you are being sponsored (whether it is actually unskilled is another matter -- it's what the DOL handbook says) will be next to impossible. For this very reason, The "EB-3 Other Workers" category is very rarely used even though it would seem that anyone could use it.

Maybe there's a very outside chance that you could use it which is why i brought it up.

Have you considered Canada? There are many more opportunities to self-sponsor. Self-sponsorship for US employment-based green cards is limited to really smart / exceptional people.

Okay great thank you both for explaining that to me. A lot of the stuff I read is rather confusing due to me having next to no knowledge regarding visa’s. Yeah I think that I will apply for my Canada Visa for me to go there after I finish my second year visa in Australia. Thank you for all the help!

GeoffM of this parish, and me, both did CampAmerica, we didn't have any restrictions on getting in and out of camp, though we had an official day off too. I think this must be specific to the camp, not the program.
