TSC is very frustrating. Every time I call their automated system, I
get the same message. Tired of it now. First NOA 10/16, and still
waiting for 2nd NOA.

you don't have to call that horrid number to check your status..... go here next time.. do it online and save on your phone bill and your sanity.

Re: TSC I-129F
Seems like it has been pretty well established from posts on this forum that the online status numbers are worthless. It appears that the only value of this is to see if a case is finished.
Udall just posted a recently updated list of processing times that is probably more useful:
http://members.aol.com/MDUdall/sctimes.htm
It shows that TSC is now processing 129Fs with a receipt date of 11 OCT. Just two weeks ago, TSC was showing a date of 12 SEP, so it would seem like there is some sudden activity there. From what I can gather in looking at other posts here, I am getting the idea that once the petition gets on someone's desk, it takes another month to make it through to completion. Given this expectation, my receipt date of 13 NOV probably means that the petition will probably actually start to be processed in mid-January 03, and the petition will probably be approved somewhere around mid-February 03 IF something doesn't change at TSC. (Actually, I expect an RFE a little sooner -- but at least I can predict when I will get it and just add another four weeks to the estimate.)
Nebraska is listed as just now processing petitions with a receipt date of 15 JUL -- so I feel lucky to be going through TSC. According to Udall, the numbers are reports from the service centers themselves, so are probably reasonable numbers.

This is a point that Udall has tried to make many times -- that people claim that a congress person made things go faster when in fact, the petition was *already* in process anyhow, as would be a petition with a receipt date before mid-October at TSC. His logic makes sense to me -- and now we can compare notes to see what happens.

To everyone with NOA1 dates up to 11 Oct 02, please post your NOA2 as
soon as you receive notice so we know that the TSC is actually moving.
They jumped their processing dates by a whole month, but nobody is
getting approved. I have a feeling they simply moved them from the
mailroom to some desk where no one sits.....

Re: TSC I-129F
Sadly, it appears that the TSC is not moving. Since no approvals were
issued last week, after they had moved up a month. I guess I will go
back to my corner....
