Default Travelling while adjusting status

I got married to a USC recently - we both live in the US - and am in the process of adjusting my status. We are planning a honeymoon and I was wondering whether I would be able to go to the US Virgin Islands and re-enter the mainland US safely without having my advanced parole papers through yet?

I know I can't go 'abroad' but are the Virgin Islands ok?

You can, but it's still somewhat of a risk....if the plane has to land outside the US for any reason, you won't be allowed back in to the USA without Advance Parole.

As long as a storm doesn't detour your plane to, say, the British Virgins. It is hurricane season.
