Travelling Abroad
hello everyone
my husband just got his 10 year green card. we would very much like to travel to canada to visit friends and maybe to europe. we are not sure how to go about it, being as he is not an american citizen as of yet. does he need any special papers or visa's to travel there? any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank You

Well that would all depend on what country he has citizenship from (what passport he is travelling on). I would contact the Canadian Embassy and also whatever countries you plan to visit in Europe to find out more information on whether he would need a visa or not.
As far as leaving and re-entering the US, he should have no problems and requires no further paperwork. just make sure he travels with his GC.

I THINK /please check it on canadian website/ that if you have green
card even if you are cintize of country that normally would require to
have visa to enter Canada you are not required to have canadian visa.

-- Assuming of course that he re-enters before a year elapses and he
didn't go to Cuba or North Korea (I think there may be one additional
destination).
