Travel without Green Card

Default Travel without Green Card

Hi

I filed my I-485 at Detroit office and was give I-551 stamp stating "Processed for I-551 Temporary Evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence valid until Oct 21,2003"

I have to travel abroad. Do i need advance parole as i don't have green card. Please Help

Hi:

You do NOT need advance parole. The stamp you desribe IS a "green card."

No, you don't require A/P. The I-551 stamp is the paper equivalent of the actual green card.

You have a "green card" for pratical purposes
The green card is form I-551
The I-551 stamp is a temporary green card.
You do not need adv parole.
