What is the rule if you travel out of the country during the process of a H-1 transfer?
i.e. if a transfer application is already in the pipeline and I want to go back to my
home country then would I be allowed re-entry? If so, under which company's H-1
would I use for re-entry-current one or new company? Also, since this is my first
trip out of the US since getting my H-1B, I will have to get the visa stamped on my
passport. So, what is the required course of action for this scenario? Thanks in
advance for your response.

You can travel as long as you show the receipt notice of the H-1B transfer when you
return. You must return before the original H-1B's time expires, and will only be admitted
until the original H-1B expires, but you will be allowed to work for the new employer.
