(US citizen filing K-1 at Nebraska (NSC), fiancee is from Canada)

11/12/2002: I-129f Overnight express to NSC
11/13/2002: Package delivered to NSC at 10:49AM
11/15/2002: 1st NOA
03/24/2003: 2nd NOA - Approved
04/10/2003: NVC finished processing package
04/11/2003: Package sent to Consulate by NVC - Vancouver BC, Canada
04/22/2003: Packet 3 arrive at Fiancee's home in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.
04/23/2003: DS-203 Part 1 & Checklist completed/faxed back to Consulate. Requested interview date of 5/27/03
04/23/2003: Overnighted support documentation to fiancee in Canada. This informatoin included:
Notarized I-134
Tax returns for 2000/2002/2003 with notarized affidavit that
the returns are copies of those filed with the IRS
OF-167, Affidavit regarding value of stock/bonds listed on the
I-134
Letter of employment
Letter of banking history
Copy of an insurance receipt showing the replacement value
of my home in Kansas.

Will update when the actual interview date has been assigned.

A question for you, if you will.
You sent the following: Tax returns for 2000/2002/2003 with notarized affidavit that

Were the tax returns the copy that we all get once we file. Or is this comething that you had to request from the IRS?

I have copies of my tax returns and I've gotten 3 years worth of tax transcripts from the IRS. I will attach an notarized affidavit as required.

Am I reading you right or wrong?

I sent my 'file' copies of the Federal tax returns, W-2's and supporting schedules. These were photocopies of the originals that I filed with the IRS. The notarize affidavit I attached was just a sword statement that the copies were of the originals as filed with the US IRS.

Yes, that does clear it up. So, one does not have to really get anything from the IRS. Just send them copies of what was filed with the IRS and sworn statements to that affect?

You mean 2000, 2001 and 2002? (2003 tax return can't be filed until 2004) Or did you send your first quarterly Estimated Tax Return (from self-employment?). I'm trying to decide whether to send that to my fiance to add to the I-134 I already sent him.

I'm obviously no exspert here, but as I understand the program....

The idea is to demonstrate that the income of the US citizen is at least 125% above the poverty income level. The individual annual tax return is the only tax document that I know of that would do that. Quarterly returns filed by self employed people are estimated returns and won't do the job. It's all about 'how much did you make last year'.... so sending the end of year tax return(s) should do the trick.

Of course, our checklist/instructions also asked for a letter from my bank showing my account in good standing and a record of deposits for the last year.... I sure hope the consulate is prepared... the bank gave me a letter but as for deposits.... they provided copies of every deposit slip I had for the last year... with no totals! LOL

Bottom line.... use the annual personal income tax returns for the US Citizen.... that is unless somebody on the list here has another idea that works better.

John is also self employed, and they didnt even ask for our bank
records ect, just his tax returns. They did ask for His business
license tho, both at Montreal and here in tampa, we also included
financial projections prepared by a CPA and our Financial Statements.
