Are these photos good enough?

I just returned from Omsk, Russia with signed G325A's and photographs in hand, ready
to begin the infamous K1 process. The photographs are my concern.
It took us half the day to locate a photographer who could take color pictures. We
finally found one who actually had the INS specifications on file. However, the
photographer refused to take our pictures exactly according to the specs. She gave us
all sorts of stories about women who were turned away at the embassy because their
pictures did not include the entire left eyeball.
So we had the pictures taken according to the photographer's anecdotal specs. For the
rest of the day we worried about whether they were good enough, then returned the
next day to get them retaken just to be safe. Even though a different photographer
was working that day, she too knew more about what the INS wanted than the INS does.
She wouldn't retake the photos.
Anyone who suggests that I should have demanded a proper picture as a paying customer
has probably never been to Russia. One notary told us to come back the next day
because she was busy talking to her friends.
At any rate, here are the pictures of us, along with the ideal photo that the
INS suggests:
http://home.att.net/~rock.wallabies/ins.html
I'm still worried that they don't show enough of the ear to be acceptable. Could
anybody with experience tell me whether these photos are good enough for the INS, or
should I tell my fiancee to go back to the photographer and ask for a 3/4 view
picture just because I like the looks of her right ear? She does have a prettier ear
than the girl in the INS photo.
Thanks for any help.

I think they look ok. I would be more worried about the black lines across your faces
though. They will not accept them like that. if you are filing in person you may find
a host of photographers outside the office

I think these will be ok. Bear in mind, when she goes for the medical exam, they
*may* require a passport photo at that time to veriffy that they are doing the
medical exam on the correct person...they seem to be starting to require this now,
although I can't recalll seeing that specifically required for russia. Alvena

When I got mine taken at AAA, they said INS requires the entire right ear and eye,
and one-half of the left eye, to be showing in the photo. Incidentally, they were
quite familiar with them because they said that all new green cards now use this
type of photo.
To me it looks a little too head-on, but her ear IS showing, and if the photographer
was familiar with the INS guidelines, I would trust them.
All the best, Beth
P.S. Thankfully, the US photographer did not require me to put all that duct tape
over my mouth.

No one can tell you whether INS will be happy with them or not. Unless of course
someone had exactly the same angle as you. I would say however that to me it looks
like the sample pic is turned a whole lot more than your pics. Will they be picky
about that? Who knows, personally if I ended up with that I would get it redone.
I've had them done about 3 or 4.. maybe 5 times now and haven't had them like that
so couldn't say if INS would reject or not.
