Tax Question..

Default Tax Question..

I read somewhere that if you earn less than a certain amount (I think it was $7,000) in a year, you don't have to file your taxes. Is this right?

Read the IRS forms...
And also , questions like these aren't visa related, so probably get more help posting them in the lifestyle section, what it's for

Or at the very least prefacing the subject line with OT for off topic.

As to whether or not you have to file, if you paid in any taxes to federal, state or local you can only get it refunded if you file.

Call the IRS for assistance.

Thanks for the replies and sorry I posted it in the wrong place.
I'd always wondered what the "OT" stood for that you see in some subject lines - I'll remember that next time!

It's called the "zero bracket amount." The IRS forms and tax tables wil
tell you all about it.
