student visa question
My wife is in the process of obtaining her F1 visa to go to school state
side. If she gets pregnant while on the visa, what approaches can we take
where she'll need time off from school? Can she change status temporarily?
Will INS give her problems?

Re: student visa question
F visas are valid for the duration of study.
I would suggest that you talk to the school and see if they will keep her I 20 valid while she has the baby.

She should consult with an international student adviser from the
international office of her school. Pregnancy can be considered to be a
medical reason for allowing a student not to be enrolled full-time for a
period of time, and still maintain lawful F-1 status.
