Stepping stones
Hello - I'm Robyn and I am new to the forum!
I am using a mobile device so can't access everything properly (so apologies if this question has been asked before).
I (like everyone else) want to move to the USA
I DO NOT have a degree. I work with special needs kids and have had progressive work in fields. I.e I am senior at the moment where I work.
I have a couple of NVQ qualifications. What I wanted to know, is do my NVQ qualifications count towards education for the H1B visa? I know you can have a mix of education and experience to equate to a degree (1 year of college = 3 yes experience?) but does that 1 year of college count if it's an NVQ accredictr do course here in the UK.
Hope this makes sense, my brain is mashed with conflicting info

The regulations define a "specialty occupation" as requiring theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge in a field of human endeavor including but not limited to biotechnology, chemistry, architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, medicine and health, education, law, accounting, business specialties, theology, and the arts, and requiring the attainment of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent as a minimum

From the info you give then I'm afraid to say that your chances of moving to the USA to work are almost nil. please look at this article and see what, if any, visa you would be qualified for, remembering that most visas are only offered to people with higher degrees, and I doubt they even recognise NVQ

The simplest way would be for you to meet and marry a US citizen, which is how a few on here got to the states.

Re: Stepping stones
I'm on tinder already. I'll just keep trying
Or....get some kind of specialised degree. Do you guys know if any they would likely land me a job in the states? Again there's too much conflicting information for me and honestly my brain is fried.
Also any links to british/us dating sites would be awesome I can only find match.com

Keep in mind that the US is one of the most difficult countries with respect to immigration - and most of the world's population (sadly, including the UK) will never come here as anything other than a visitor. Know that this is by design. US immigration rules and regulations are written specifically to keep non-US citizens out of the US.

Re: Stepping stones
Even though your brain
is currently mush,
let me offer a word of advice.
Do not pursue a degree
if you're doing it to get
a visa to the US.
Do a degree
because it's something you enjoy
and something you want to do.
You might spend
the next 3-4 years
pursuing a degree
and there's still no guarantee
that it'll help you get
a visa to the US...
And then you've wasted
3-4 years of time,
and have a degree
in a field in which
you might not really
be interested.
That's just sad.

Pulaski - thank you. Have you just cut things from Ian's post? Haha
I think it will have to be marriage. Time to attract some Americans.
