Starting our Visa Process (L1 & 2)
Hello Everyone!
I've been a member of this site for a while, as we were due to move to Minneapolis last January, but the recession put a delay on things. Anyway, the company have finally got things going, and paperwork has been submitted to the lawyers to start the process. We're (hopefully) moving on an L1 (my husband) and L2 for me, with the aim of moving in April

All the best with it. We did ours just over a year ago and it was smooth sailing. Do you know if the company has a blanket L1 petition in place? Anecdotal evidence shows that this tends to make the whole thing go a lot quicker - we came in under a blanket petition and the hardest part was getting an appointment at the consulate (in Dubai).

Make sure they get your husbands flavour of L1 correct. Needs to be L1a if he's a manager and not L1b.
Will get you more time here and potentially a faster greencard, if you want to go that route.

We got our approved petition today, and have an appointment at the Embassy on Wednesday
All we've got to do now is fill in all these damned forms and collate the paperwork. Currently scratching our head over the DS-156

Can anyone help us please? We are stuck on "Where will you stay in the US?". We don't actually know yet - my h's employers will rent us an apartment for the first 3 months, but this isn't done yet. So, do we leave it blank? put his employers address? or do something else?

Taffie,
If your husband has travelled to the office where he is being transferred to in the past and have stayed at a hotel nearby, why not use that address on the application form?
When you enter the US with your L visas in April you will have to write on the I-94 the name of where you will be staying and by that time you should know for definate.
