Short Term Contract Visa Help
Hi...
Just trying to work out the best visa/if it is worth doing a 2 week consulting contract ive been offered in the us...
Have Oz & Uk passports....usually use VWP when travelling to the us but that is only to attend conferences etc. not work - from what Ive read you can not work at all under VWP....
Am I right in thinking that an Oz E3 visa would be the best option, or are there particular visa options for this type of short term visit?...
FYI have a bachelors degree & post grad from Oz unis.......specialised financial software job.....
Any comments from anyone with experience would it be worth going through the hassle for a 2 week contract?.....Dont need the cash from the contract...just a great way to get paid to see people I care about over there.....

Your best best bet would probably be to do the consulting job remotely from Australia and then just spend the proceeds on a vacation in the US ...

Correct.
It'll be an incredible waste of both time and money to arrange for a visa for a 2 week assignment.

What parts of the contract actually require you to be in the US? Sometimes it is possible to travel for business under the VWP (meetings, training, etc). Could that be an option with other aspects of the job done remotely?
