Default Senate considers tax on soda to pay for trillion $ health plan.

Another poor tax. Smokes, liquor, now soda and energy drinks.

We hardly ever drink soda at the house, but I know many people at the lower end of the pay scale who drink more soda than anything else. Are there better choices? Yep. Will they choose them? Nope.

It's promised here for 'economic development'. Which can be just about anything.
I hate having the poker machines in bars. I think it's the downfall of America.

Great idea! First prize - heart transplant. Second prize - quad bypass. Third prize - double hip replacement. Scratch & Win for hernia repair, appendectomy, gall bladder removal.

In that case smokers should get their first 5 years of health care free.

This is an idiotic tax, just another way to take more money from people.

I don't think there's a problem with taxing self-imposed unhealthy habits ... as long as the money is then put towards health care or health research.

While we're at it, let's add a child tax, to pay for education and stop people breeding.

OK, that last one wasn't serious.
