Self Employment Possible with EAD?

Self Employment Possible with EAD?
My wife received her EAD this week (hooray!). I am H1B and she is H4, and we put in our LPR application in February. Now our question at this point is: can she be self-employed on her EAD? We are phoning around all the different people, and no one seems to know. Many thanks everyone.

Remind her to check to see if she requires a city business license if she is working from home and also to file the correct income form for self-employed persons.
