Default Section 245(i) and Labor Certification Processing Times

Hello,

Does anyone has any idea how long it could take to clear Labor Certification
backlog due to Section 245(i)? They have been processing RIR cases from April
2001 (New York) for a while. I heard that the April cases would clear by the end
of this year but who knows... Given today's economy I'm hoping that less cases
were filled after April 2001 (as opposed to the same number in the year 2000)
and therefore the processing should go faster after they clear the April cases
(although this could be offset by DOL requests for more recruitment that tend to
happen lately). Am I wrong in my assumptions?
