My sister in law has been accepted to practice as an RN in california, her trianing
and credentials have been found to be eqivalent to us california . sha has beed
issued an interim permit to practice. my question is does she still have to go thru
visa screening as her lawyer advises. can she start working without work permit. she

Hi,

THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED TO BE LEGAL ADVICE. I AM NOT A LAWYER. I DON'T EVEN PLAY
ONE ON TV!

The short answer is that she will need to obtain INS permission to work in the United
States. It would appear that the advice she is getting from her attorney is valid.
