Req. any advice on dealing with INS Beauracracy
I've posted a message before and following the advice, I hired a
lawyer to handle our case. We had our interview in Aug. of 2001 and
needed fingerprints to complete our case. A year later my wife
traveled to see her mother. The INS office issued her an advance
parole and on our return, they classified her as out of status and she
has to file an I-601. Our lawyer said they are wrong, and all he has
to do is get to the supervisor to plead our case. That was three
months ago. Our lawyer told us that he submits a letter of inquiry
once a month but that's about all he can do until they respond to it.
Here's my question, is there anything I can do to facilitate a
response? Should I write my congressman, the INS, or go down in person
and deal with this. My only concern is it could make matters worse.
But, it's been five years since we applied. I am starting to become a
little desperate.
Thanks
