In conjunction with my employment outside the country, my wife was
issued a reentry permit that expires in early July of this year. My
company plans on keeping me here until late August. We have just
returned from a trip back to the U.S. Since we have returned to the
U.S. prior to the expiration of the reentry permit, does she need to
extend, or apply for a new reentry permit in order to have a trouble
free reentry into the U.S. twenty days after her permit expires? In

First, she can't properly apply for a new reentry permit unless she returns
the U.S. and applies while she is there.

Second, it is not very important for her to get another reentry permit, and
this is the reason: when she reenters the U.S., her absence from the U.S.
will have been less than 6 months.
